Planning

How to plan a year ahead

Start from the end of January to the end of January. Christmas and New Year are so full of emotions and busy-ness, so making a plan for the next year in that state can lead to muddles and too high ambitions. If they are not achievable, they are barely plans at all.

Taking a few days at the end of January when life has calmed down a bit will be much easier and clearer. I use the term plan as they can change and be fluid.

With as much detail as possible, don’t forget to put in the good bits. If you want to get a new job; describe it. What kind of environment, role and salary do you want?

If you want a new home; describe what type of home you can realistically get. What size, view, decoration and location would you like? And then what can you realistically afford?

If you want a new wardrobe, what designers, shoes and colours do you like?

Putt as much detail as possible. Using a dream board with pictures or film clips can starts to create a really personal and real plan of what you want your life to look like.
